Introduction

This guide will guide you through the review process. This process is integrated by two main steps, firstly, you have to log in with your username and password and, secondly, you have to do the review. Both steps are explained in the following lines:

  1. Log in with your username and password.

    Next, you will automatically access to user’s home screen:

    If your username and password have been sent to you by email, it is highly recommended that you change your password the first time you log in for security. If this is case, please click this link. Otherwise, you can continue reading this guide.

    In your private area you could see those papers that have been assigned to you for revision. Click on the red box to see the papers you have to review and, then, click on the selected paper.

    If the 'Reviewer' section does not appear in the screen, it may be due to the fact that your role as reviewer has not been correctly defined. If this is the case, please contact us to solve it; in other case, please continue with this guide.

     
  2. Doing the review:

    You can see the 'REVIEW STEPS' by scrolling down the screen. The review process is integrated by 5 step:

    Step 1: You have to indicate whether you accept or not to do the review within the deadline. The editorial team would appreciate if you could make a decision as soon as possible in order not to delay the process.

    Once you have clicked on 'Will do the review' or 'Unable to do the review' should email the editor to communicate that decision. If you wish, you can write the reasons for your decision in the 'Body' section. When you finish, please, click 'Send'.

    Step 2: if you accept to review the paper, you are now allowed to download it, together with the additional files (if any).

    Step 3: here, you can start completing the review. First, click on 'Review Form'.

    You must value all items on section 1. Additionally, you can add comments on section 2.1. Those comments will be EXCLUSIVELY sent to the Editor (authors will not have access to them). However, you can write comments to the author on section 2.2. Once you have completed the review form, please click 'Save'.

    Step 4: this is an optional step. You can send to the Editor any additional files (word files, figures, ...) you want in order to explain your review deeply.

    Please, remember not to include any personal information in the files you upload as the review process is blind.

    Step 5: finally, you have to communicate your final decision about the paper.

    These are the existing options:

    • Accept Submission: The submission will be accepted without revisions.
    • Revisions Required: The submission will be accepted after minor changes have been made.
    • Resubmit for Review: The submission needs to be re-worked, but with significant changes, may be accepted. It will require a second round of review, however.
    • Resubmit Elsewhere: The topic of the paper does not match with the scope of JMR; it is recommended to send the paper to other journals.
    • Decline Submission: The submission will not be published with the journal.
    • See Comments: If the final decision is complex and it does not match with any on the previous options, reasons have to be included in sections 2.1. and 2.2. (see step 3 and step 4).

    Change your password

    In order to change your password, you have to access your private area by clicking on this link. Log in with your username and current password. You will access your private area:

    Click on 'Change my password' and write your current password and your new password (you have to write your new password twice).
