Abstract

This study aims to develop a strategic concept for developing Jordan’s capabilities in supporting the establishment of national maritime security. The method used is SWOT analysis, by gathering internal and external factors that are then integrated into several valid main strategic concepts. The results reached in this research are the compilation of 12 main strategic concepts in developing Jordan’s national capabilities in supporting the establishment of national maritime security. Maritime security must be sought, achieved, controlled and maintained so that it can be achieved as expected. Maritime security is a topic that is often discussed when a country faces the impact of globalization, especially in the maritime sector. This view is based on a theoretical position that sees globalization as a dynamic that can move all institutions, including the state. The dynamics of the global and regional environment will always affect the state of national maritime security, whether positive or negative effects that ultimately affect national stability, so there is a need for a strategy to develop the capabilities of the maritime security agency to support the establishment of national maritime security.
