Behaviour of sea freight traffic model
Main Article Content
Abstract
The difficulty in determining the exogenous variables of sea traffic, both global andnational, arising mainly from its complex relation with the economy, makes it necessaryto turn to a theoretical analysis tool which is not always available in therequired spatial area. The present paper models the behaviour of Spanish sea freighttraffic in order to verify the variables which define it.To do this, we first formalise atheory on the demand for sea transport of a country, which provides useful referencesfor the process of selection of exogenous variables. In the configuration ofSpanish sea traffic the decisive factors are the GDP, the Exchange Rate, inflationand industrial production.
