There are many merits of carrying ballast water, and nowadays almost all vessels carry it. For instance, all merchant's vessels carry ballast water to arrange their balance; especially when they are unloaded. On the other hand, there are many demerits of ballast water to the local habitat. To harm done to local habitats due to ballast water carried on merchant's vessels is to be discussed in this article.
